Foto Fridays

About 6 months ago I found myself working all the time without any type of outlet to challenge my mind in a different direction.  With the advice of a really, really, good IMB photographer, I invested in a Nikon D80 SLR camera and a few other accessories and have begun my journey into the world of capturing, hopefully interesting images as I travel in our region and maybe some from the U.S.

My first entry is a shot of two indigenous ladies selling their handcrafts at a street market in Antigua, Guatemala.  Guatemala is undoubtedly one of the most colorful countries in Latin America. To view a larger image, click on the photograph.

Guatemala has 23 indigenous people groups representing over 50 dialectical differences in language.  Most do not know that for over 50% of the population, Spanish is not their first or heart language.
